While many people may comment that this in fact feels like a melancholy vibe is given, I chose this song as being happy because from personal experience I feel happier after listening to this. His repetitive lyrics "I won't give up on us, God knows I'm tough, he knows. . .," give me the power to be able to keep moving forward. You are able to feel the emotion from Jason Mraz's voice and because of it the lyrics truly speak to me. More than anything, what is being conveyed through the song, does in fact get listened to unlike other songs, his strength in this song are his lyrics and through his use of dramatized emotion he achieves his goal with success. An example of this success can be seen through Nicholas McDonald's rendition of I Won't Give Up on the X Factor. As this adolescent sang this song, it was inevitable to see he truly felt and believed the words he was singing, his competitors equally shared their faith in this song through the endless sea of tears evident of every face sitting down. While the song invokes tears, the end result is a sense of self confidence and persistence of reaching your dreams.
